205 properties with internet; Summer Digging (and fitting!) continues around Crook

The 200 Connected Properties milestone has been smashed .. currently at 205! Well done Crook community! (and surrounding areas 😉) Summer digging and fitting is in full swing, with 5 properties completed by the team in July on road to Plumgarth and Plantation Bridge (Cumbria Wildlife trust, Bankend, Cragg Bungalow, Cottage and Barn and Bellridding). The team welcomes two new members Matthew Connolly and Chris Knowles from Plantation Bridge. Thank-you for your great work. Tony 'Swinny' has been spotted out and about and ploughing extensions to Crook's main routes. July 25th - A very long dig at BenRidding: we thought it would take 2 days and we smashed it and did it in one long morning! Great job team, thank-you Boyd, Andy, Chris, Matthew, Peter, Andrew and Liz. 80 houses live on B4RN and 9 more homes dug and fitted!

Ivan getting to work with his John Deere digger at Fairbank Farm 80 houses are live and enjoying B4RN's gigabit broadband service and more are ready to be connected. Our 3 fantastic mole plough teams are continuing to rip through the main route meters. Steve Foster and Tony Middleton have joined forces to complete Route 3 (Chapel Lane to Blackmoss) and Tony Swidenbank is working hard on the outer reaches of Route 2 (Ratherheath Lane and Plumgarth). Northerly out post of Blackmoss, Route 3 connected with 7mm duct Crook's volunteer dig and fit team have glided through another 100m+ of lawn and yard, unravelling metres of 7mm duct, readying 9 more homes on Routes 3 and 5 for connection. A big thank you to our new volunteers, Carol, Di and Michael who got stuck in to some heavy picking, digging and cable laying at the Ashes Farm Cluster and Holden Hall on Friday. On the fibre ducting trail with Frank Brown

Good Friday hot cross buns and splicing! Frank Brown's plan to make use of the large compressor on Good Friday came good. He and David Foster met at Crag chamber, ready to blow fibre a full 1300m to Lindreth on the side of Bell Hill. After 6 hours of head scratching and investigating, Frank and David finally located the ducting issue - it was completely severed by a sharp rock. Two hours later the fibre was installed. A good result in the end! Thank-you 👏👏👏
