From floods & mud to frost, blue sky & sun - what a difference a week can make!

Our dig and fit volunteer team are continuing as they started this year - working steadily through the list of houses that need minor duct digging and fitting in all weather.

Last week the team completed the work at The Kennels, Lindeth under atrocious conditions and then moved to Crook Foot (Route CK 4).
Above, Phil Butcher leading the work, setting duct under the stone wall, with Boyd Gilmore excavating a trench through hard rocks.

Andy Brown, reunited with his pick and the team ready to grab the duct coming under the wall.

Above, digger, Judy Pateson and fitter, Jonathan Jeacocke. Below the team finishing up and putting the garden back together.

Thank-you for the very fine coffee and pastries.

This week (January 18th) the volunteer team started and completed work at Juniper Cottage  (Route CK 6) with a stunning view of the Langdale fells, -5 degree C and bright sunshine.

Pippa Mowat, Judy Leigh, Chris Mowat and Judy Pateson digging a trench through beautiful loamy soil - no picks needed on this dig!

Mike admiring his neatly dug trench - turf rolled back and ground sheet laid, and the team waiting for the duct to poke through the wall.

That's another one done!
